Frequently asked questions.

How much does my carrier charge for roaming?

International roaming typically costs between $10 and $15 USD per day with very limited data. If you exceed your plan, extra charges are $5-10 USD per MB, which can ruin your budget in hours. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Telcel have different plans, but none is competitive vs a local eSIM.

Why is eSIM cheaper?

Because you buy data at the local wholesale price of the country you visit. Your carrier charges international roaming, which is 5-10x more expensive than the real price because it includes inter-carrier agreements and markup. An eSIM uses the same networks (AT&T, Vodafone, Orange, etc.) but without the roaming surcharge.

Does eSIM work in all countries?

We have coverage in 200+ countries. There are individual plans per country, regional (Europe, Asia, America) and a global plan that works in 130+ countries. The difference is that in some isolated countries (Cuba, Venezuela, Iran) coverage is limited or null.

Do I need to unlock my phone?

The phone must be unlocked (without carrier lock) and be eSIM compatible. Most phones since 2019 are. Check for free on our compatibility tool.

What if I travel to a country with poor coverage?

If your destination has limited coverage, you can combine the eSIM with WiFi from hotels/cafes. For emergencies, you can always activate your original carrier's roaming for a specific day (notify your carrier in advance so they don't overcharge you).

Is eSIM secure?

Totally. eSIMs use the same encryption standards as physical SIMs. There is no additional security risk. The only difference is that the eSIM profile is downloaded digitally instead of coming on a plastic card.
